I'll be happy to answer one question:

How does his failure to address the rise of “wokeism” affect his analysis?

I've asked hundreds of people over the past 10 years to answer a simple question:

"If you spent one month without contact with any media - print, radio, TV, online of all kinds - how would anything related to what you think of as "woke" affect you?"

What kinds of answers did I get?

(1) It would not affect me at all (about 85% gave this answer, usually with tremendous reluctance)

(2) Among college humanities students (since college humanities students have been coming up with obnoxious comments since at least the founding of Cambridge university, and at this point about 5% of college students major in the humanities, this means this has close to zero effect on our general civic life)

(3) HR presentations (usually about 2 or 3 times a year)

David Horowitz (a disaffected Leftst radical) was hired in the early 90s by a right wing organization to dig into obscure left wing academics and write articles making people think this represented the thinking of most liberals.

Looking back over 60 years, I think this woke mythology is a pretty good reflection of a much larger issue you don't touch on - the end of the age of Enlightenment.

Kant said this fairly well a few centuries back but science has now progressed to the point that we can't ignore it anymore. The materialist philosophy underlying most of liberalism (and infecting most of religious conservatism as well) never worked, but we are seeing the results of its failure in every aspect of our lives.

Until we're willing to even consider there is a way of knowing which transcends ordinary reason, we will never solve our problems.

This looks really good. This was my contribution, reviewing Robert Kagan's book defending American liberal principles from the Declaration and Constitution.
